Read on to find out what we offer, and what makes our tours so unique!
For 15 years Quest Tours has been escorting small groups to discover the incredible whales of Vava’u Tonga and the culture of this wonderful Island gem.
Our Guides can access places and arrange cultural events you could never hope to find as an individual. We are often invited for kava nights in local villages, where you get to meet friends and family of our friendly staff.
Our Tongan groups are capped at 11 plus your tour leader to maximise your whale experience and to allow easy transport around the island for optional activities.
Small group travel allows you to meet likeminded people - you join the tour as adventurers and leave as friends! Sometimes these friendships last forever.
Watching and snorkelling with whales is our main reason for visiting Vava’u, but enjoying the culture and food of the island with a small group of like minded adventurers makes the trip a complete experience. We go beyond the tourist trail and are able to take you to see remote beaches, lookouts, plantations and organise cultural nights.
When you travel in a small group there is less to worry about. Our prices include all major costs, you only budget for optional activities and personal purchases plus additional meals.

"An absolutely amazing trip that you have to experience to appreciate! Being in the water with the Whales is breathtaking and the Tongan people are some of the loveliest on the planet. Definitely a 5 star experience & worth every cent!"
Wendy Johnson, Newcastle - NSW
"It is a totally exhilarating experience to have a Humpback whale pass you by while you are floating in the most beautiful clear blue water you have ever seen, totally breathtaking and a once in a lifetime experience that will be very hard to beat. . Vava'u is a place that has no concept of time, a unique place place to just sit and watch the world go by for a week or two. All in all a pretty awesome adventure. "
Amanda Hall, 2008
"I came with two professional cameras, thinking I was prepared for anything.... But little did I know...
Today I did not take a shot. But I was left speechless and crying tears of joy - what we experienced cannot be put into words:
I like to call it "sound therapy" . we were laying silent, for 2hours, somewhere in the middle of the ocean. Floating just 30m above one big beautiful creature. Every particle of my body is still vibrating from this song of a fully grown Humpback Whale calling a mate.

Just letting you know that we had an amazing experience swimming with the whales that will live in our memories forever. Thanks for the opportunity to join one of your groups and many thanks to Geoff for his guidance, organisation and friendly company that made our whole group appreciate the wonderful and unique experience that we were all having on land and in the water.
Thank you once again for the wonderful experience, joy and fun we all had on this tour and we look forward to perhaps joining you or Geoff on another Quest Tour in the near future.
